Happiness Granted from Eating Mooncake Dropped from Heaven

SDS Continues its Tale on Mooncake’s Origin, and Makes it Real with Giveaway Events.

Mid-Autumn Festival is a time where mooncake bakers exercise their creativity promoting mooncake, and SDS has made its mooncake tale real with giveaway activities to promote SDS signature mooncake.

Twisted with legend of Mid-Autumn Festival, SDS has produced an advertisement that SDS A-LI has eaten Musang King durian, known as celestial fruit, and was then transformed by Chang Er into mooncake dropping from heaven. 

The tale relates to alluring Chang Er to sneak a taste of durian due to its superiority. Chang Er has ended it with happy ending whereby people eating mooncake will then gain happiness.

Extending SDS mooncake’s tale, two activities named “Mooncake Hunt” and “Mooncake Drop” are carried out. Both activities encourage participants to find mooncakes dropped from heaven.

““Mooncake Hunt” and “Mooncake Drop” have made the tale come true,” said Ms. Alice Loh, Marketing Manager of SDS.

“As mooncakes dropped from heaven, they are everywhere now. Therefore, we created “Mooncake Hunt” to let participants hunting mooncakes and presents which are hidden. On the other hand, “Mooncake Drop” allows participants to witness balloons representing mooncake, dropped from upper floor in shopping centre.”

There are three “Mooncake Hunt” sessions carried out. Located at AEON Mall Bandar Dato’ Onn on 25th Aug 2018 11.30am to 12.30pm, AEON Mall Tebrau City on 2nd Sept 2018 3.30pm to 4.30pm and KSL City 9th Sept 2018, 1.30pm to 2.30pm respectively. Meanwhile, “Mooncake Drop” will be happening at AEON Mall Bukit Indah on 1st Sept 2018, 4pm to 5pm.

“Our customers can now immerse in the tale and become one of the character. We hope they can enjoy being part of the tale and enhance family bonding through the activities.”

Interested participants are required to pre-register online through SDS official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/sdsgroups/events/ . Each “Mooncake Hunt” session is limited to 50 pairs (one adult and one kid in a pair), while “Mooncake Drop” is unlimited. Fabulous freebies including SDS Mooncake, UNIQLO AiRism T-Shirt, FANPEKKA Theme Park Family Tickets, mmCineplexes movie tickets, SDS cash vouchers, shopping vouchers, merchandise and more are prepared to giveaway to participants.

SDS is the first creator of Yukino mooncake in Malaysia. Yukino mooncake is an inspiration of Japanese mochi and frozen mooncake. It is suitable for the Malaysian hot weather as it’s chilled and smooth texture reminds one of an ice cream. Brand new flavour, Matcha Akai Yuki, the matcha red bean Yukino frozen mooncake is introduced by SDS this year to bring customers closer to Japanese style of Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mid-Autumn Festival is also the season where people sends their regards to friends and relatives. Two new reusable gift set boxes whereby customer can top up as low as RM36, was introduced by SDS. Limited edition “The Twelve Treasures” with 12 mini mooncakes was newly added to the festive. Only 500 pieces are available and “The Twelve Treasures” has gotten very well response with pre-order online.
