SDS Launch Christmas Project Aims to Bring Happiness to Local Orphanage.
Christmas is around the corner. During this joyful season’s celebration, SDS Bakery & Cafe is taking initiative to spread happiness to orphanage via its Christmas project, named “Light Up Happiness”, which involves its customer in this meaningful action.
Light signifies hope and happiness. During this season, SDS ties shortbread cookies on each of the light bulb hang on Christmas tree placed in selected SDS Cafes. SDS customer who spends RM50 or above on Christmas meal at SDS Cafe will be given a free shortbread cookie worth RM4.50, and this customer is required to untie the cookie from Christmas tree. Once the cookie is removed by customer, bright light from the bulb will become visible, and slowly when all cookies are removed, the Christmas tree will be fully lighted.
“For each lighted Christmas tree, we will bring a surprise to an orphanage, which is Christmas celebration and Christmas cake sharing,” said Ms. Rachel Liem, Marketing Manager of SDS.
“Christmas is the most suitable season for us to spread happiness to people around us, especially showing care to the less fortunate. On this Christmas project, we encourage our customers to contribute their effort to light up the Christmas tree with their celebration of Christmas at SDS. The lighted Christmas tree enable orphans to enjoy a joyful Christmas. As a result, customer, SDS, and the community are connected, and all of us are able to enjoy a merry Christmas.” Ms. Rachel added.
SDS “Light Up Happiness” project is carried out from 16 Nov to 22 Dec 2019, at SDS Café at Johor Jaya, Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, The Mall Mid Valley Southkey, Plaza Pelangi, AEON Mall Tebrau City, and AEON Mall Kulaijaya.
“This year, we introduce a brand new festive menu which comes with several new creations to make your mouth water,” Ms. Rachel commented.
Delectable meals are able to brings up the festive celebration emotion. SDS Christmas best seller, “Herb-Roasted Whole Chicken” is back by popular demand. Beside this, brand new flavour, “Honey Black Pepper Roasted Whole Chicken”, is also launched by SDS on this Christmas. Deeply marinated with secret recipe, SDS “Herb-Roasted Whole Chicken” and “Honey Black Pepper Roasted Whole Chicken” are served with rocky sauce, and BBQ sauce, suitable for 3 to 4 persons sharing, available at RM39.90++.
Customers who plan to have festive gathering at home can choose to take-away SDS Roasted Whole Chicken as well. SDS E-member is eligible for 10% discount, while 15% discount for card holder when purchase 1 bird of SDS Roasted Whole Chicken. SDS A-LI Tumbler will be given away for free for every take-away purchase of 2 birds SDS Roasted Whole Chicken combo, or 1 bird of SDS Roasted Whole Chicken and 1pc of SDS “X’mas Log Cake” (Standard or Royal size) combo. Pre-order 3 days in advanced is required for SDS Roasted Whole Chicken for dine-in or take away. It will be readily available on 23rd to 25th December.
Apart from that, lamb lovers are able to savour SDS brand new creation, “Santa Wonder Lamb” during this festive season too. Available at RM36.90++, the braised lamb shoulder served with mashed potato, sweet corn, assorted vegetables and brown gravy is ready to satisfy your taste buds. Sea-licious “Merry Fishmas”, grilled salmon which served with sautéed spinach mushroom, sweet corn, mashed potato, and specialty raita sauce is also available at RM31.90++. Fries always come before guys. Capsicum cheesy baked crispy fries which first introduced by SDS in this Christmas at RM13.90++, “Rudolph the Red Fries” is definitely the best choice for girls-talk gathering.
To be compatible with enticing meals, cool beverages are also launched for Christmas menu. Health-enthusiast would love the refreshing note made with orange-pomegranate juice and egg white, “Jingle Holiday Punch”, which is available at RM8.90++ for add-on to Christmas meal or RM11.90++ for a-la-carte. “Winter Chocolate”, the chocolate drink topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce is also available for add-on to Christmas series at RM7.90++ and a-la-carte at RM10.90++.

Cake is always the answer for a jolly party. This year, SDS launches a series of unique and camera-ready Christmas cakes, ranges from RM58 to RM88 accordingly. SDS most significant Christmas cake, “Santa House”, the hand-crafted chocolate house is the best choice for chocolaty sweet tooth. Coolest indulgent, “Winter Holiday”, the Gelato cake with chocolate sponge and “Cookies & Cream” Gelato is also ready to chill your Christmas celebration. Eye-catching and photogenic Christmas cake such as “Here Comes Santa”, red velvet cake with cheese mousse, and “Santa Town”, vanilla sponge with mango mousse and jelly are also worthy to share on social media. Classic yule log cake, “X’mas Log Cake” which specially made by chocolate swiss roll is also available in SDS Christmas series.
It’s essential to mention the most unique cake creation launched by SDS in this Christmas, “A Christmas Blessing”, cutest ever Christmas tree appearance chocolate moist cake baked with ganache. Other than cakes, SDS has also announced a series of Christmas confectioneries, which included “Ho Ho Ho Bundle”, 2 in 1 donut with adorable Santa appearance and Christmas wreath, “Holiday Tree”, mini white Christmas tree bun with custard filling, and “A Gift from Santa”, combo of Mini Macarons, Almond Chocolate Cookies, Cranberry Butter Cookies and Almond and Seeds Crisp, sold at RM9.90.
SDS Christmas cakes are available for pre-order 3 days in advance till 1st January 2020. Early bird who place order for cakes at SDS outlets no later than 29 Nov 2019 will be able to enjoy 15% discount.
