For the third year in a row, OXY, the top anti-acne skincare brand in Malaysia, is reaffirming its commitment to helping impoverished youngsters, realizing the transformational potential of education in forming futures.

More than 600 pupils from four Orang Asli schools in Selangor will get educational help from OXY, in collaboration with Watsons Malaysia and the MyKasih Foundation, as part of its "Sending Love & Care to Children" initiative.

The campaign's beneficiaries from the previous year, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Judah (A), Pulau Carey, are once again the recipients of this support for Orang Asli students. The school's attendance rate increased from 69% to 80%, surpassing its 72% KPI, as a result of OXY's donation of instructional aids and audiovisual equipment.

For 178 Orang Asli kids in grades 4 through 6, the program provides after-school tutoring to help them with their fundamental writing, spelling, and reading skills. Since its introduction at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Judah (A), Pulau Carey, last year, this project has also significantly enhanced the literacy of pupils in the Bahasa Malaysia curriculum. Apart from the literacy initiative, Oxy's 'Sending Love & Care to Children' campaign aims to cultivate a love of reading by establishing reading areas or mini-libraries in classrooms. More nutritional assistance and educational resources will be given to these impoverished kids in order to improve their educational experience.

To promote physical activity and to develop teamwork among students, OXY organised a fun interschool mini sports day. The event, which was held during the mock cheque handover ceremony, included various games such as the Gunny Sack Race, Filling Water Bottles with a Sponge and Ping Pong Ball-and-Spoon Race. Each student participant received souvenirs from OXY as a token of appreciation for their involvement.

To materialise this effort, OXY, alongside Watsons Malaysia, has successfully raised RM50,000 to fund the education and learning of the Orang Asli students.

The efforts of MyKasih Foundation and Watsons Malaysia were also acknowledged, showcasing their significant commitment to provide a brighter future for these communities. The campaign is anticipated to help bridge educational gaps and open new opportunities for growth and development of the Orang Asli community.

Lim Mei Yuen, General Manager of Rohto-Mentholatum (M), emphasised the importance of providing equal educational opportunities for every child, regardless of their background. She expressed hope that, with the educational support and learning materials provided by OXY, these students will be better equipped to excel in their studies and secure promising future prospects. She also hopes that through OXY's initiative, learning will become more enjoyable and encourage students to look forward to attending school.

“We understand the financial constraints and limited educational resources Orang Asli students may face. Hence, we are eager to continue our support for these underprivileged children. With the support of our partners, including MyKasih Foundation and the dedicated teachers at the schools, we are confident that these students will be able to overcome barriers and achieve their educational goals. Our aim is to create a meaningful difference in their lives and offer them the chance to thrive and succeed,” Lim added.
